Peter Bove is a chef at heart. He is very passionate about food, whether it is cooking, talking with local farmers, wandering the market or testing the newest culinary tool. Chef Peter loves to cook and share his knowledge of food with others.
Peter is a culinary leader with an entrepreneurial spirit whose passion is to create an award-winning culinary experience within a disciplined kitchen environment. Chef Peter has developed naturally into Top of the Square Catering’s leading culinary authority and has spent innumerable intimate evenings with guests preparing six-course meals full of twists and delights. Chef Peter has received many accolades including ARAMARK’s Higher Education Chef of the Year in 2007.
Perhaps it was his rich Italian heritage and grandmother’s magical family meals that inspired Peter—at an early age—to become a great chef. After attending the New York Restaurant School, Peter worked in family-style Italian restaurants in Staten Island learning about quality ingredients and attention to detail.
Chef Peter further developed his skills while working as the Executive Sous Chef at the Boat House Restaurant in New York City, in addition to having business accounts at 7 World Trade Center and Merrill Lynch. It was in 2003 at NYU, while working as Executive Chef, that Chef Peter was able to develop his unique ability to bring urban polish to hearty foods with rural roots, gaining him critical favor with his clients and peers.
Chef Peter’s creativity and culinary knowledge of distinctively blending foods cultivates client loyalty. Whether it is knocking out students with his homemade cooking or serving distinguished guests such as President Bill Clinton, Queen Rania of Jordan, Prime Minister Gordon Brown of England, Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and others, Chef Peter’s clients are always impressed by his creativity, use of locally grown ingredients and sophistication in presentation.
